Slide 5 This is also an enlarged view of a completed gas well. It is a little more simplified with regarding the casing and cementing, but shows a few more details of what a producing well finally looks like. The gas flows out of the gas bearing rock strata (blue) along the fractures in the gas bearing strata made by the driller (darker blue) and through holes the concrete and metal well production pipe casing (grey and black) into the vertical production pipe (blue again) and upward. At the surface any incidental salt water or other fluids are collected in a tank, and the gas moves through gathering lines to market. Very occasionally the fluids in the tank need to be hauled out. But how does all of this get put into place? |
