WVSORO commented on the Department of the Interior’s draft guidance for the first $25 Million coming to West Virginia to plug orphaned wells pursuant to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021. Also the Ohio River Valley Institute in West Virginia contributed to comments submitted by 27 other non-profits, academics, etc! WVSORO was influential working through Senator Manchin to get calculations of future distributions to recognize the Legislature’s enactment of three bills that WVSORO was able to get passed in 2020 to plug some orphaned wells.
